MEDICAL AND SURGICAL EYE CARE
FRANCIS J. MANNING, M.D. CATHERINE T. ROMMEL, M.D ADAM R. THODE, M.D.
Our office performs both Photo-Refractive Keratectomy (PRK) and Laser in-Situ Keratomileusis, or LASIK, procedures. Both procedures have their advantages and disadvantages, but have comparable long-term results. In our office, we utilize the most up-to-date laser platform, the VISX Star S4® with CustomVue technology.
Prior to 1995, refractive surgery was done by hand, but the development of the excimer laser revolutionized the procedure by allowing the precise reshaping of the cornea to reduce or eliminate nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism.
